CBGB's, June 12, 2003 Doors at 7:00 PM Featuring: DEMENTIA THIRTEEN MUCK & THE MIRES THE RECRUDERS THE DEMANDS THEE MINKS THE PALE IMITATIONS A whole night of garage rock & roll music for just ten simoleons. C'mon everybody! GOTHAM GARAGE Release Information April 28, 2003 Gotham Garage rocks - from the opening chord of the Tie Reds' energetic "Come On, Let's Go" through the Konks' lo-fi epic, "One Eye Open." The music is diverse, including the grrl-rock of The Downbeat Five and Thee Minks, the retro sound of Muck & the Mires, and the solid blank-generation power of Baby Strange, The Drossells, and The Fever. Fans who like the music of The Hives, The Mooney Suzuki, The White Stripes, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but are wondering where the underground, less-hyped, and up-and-coming acts are: check this out. The bands on Gotham Garage were selected from 100 'new garage' acts from the Northeastern United States who participated in an Enoch contest. All have solid local followings, are regularly featured on regional radio stations including WFMU in New York, and WBCN, WFNS, and WERS in Boston, and several have major-label recording contracts, have charted CMJ, and have opened for acts such as BRMC, The Vines, and The Mooney Suzuki. They have the raw energy of unfiltered rock and roll. It's like listening to The Quarrymen before they put on suits.
