welcome to brother metatron's page of|
jewish communities at burning man
Yes, there are lots of Jews at Burning Man! And yes, every year, there are Shabbat services
and other cool yid programming on the playa. Bruchim ha'ba'im!
The best way to find out about what's going on this year is click
here to subscribe to the jewishburners Yahoo group. Read up, get in touch, and find out.
In 2008, one of the coolest Jewish camps on the playa looks to be
Sukkat Shalom. Check their
website to find out what they're up to -- there's a calendar and everything.
For many years, the Black Rock JCC (founded in 2004) was the home of all
things Jewish: Congregation B'Nai Hamidbar, kosher food, and more. The JCC is
on a bit of a reprieve right now, but a lot of the old timers are still coming back.
Our old website is here.
Remember, Burning Man is all about participation, self-reliance, and radical self-expression. There is
no "they" -- only "we". If you've got Jewwy stuff you want to do on the playa, do it! Join the Yahoo
group and connect with others, and make it happen. See you at the Burn!
