In 1996, Ari Weller left a successful advertising career to pursue what he hoped would be a more meaningful existence serving others needs and became a personal trainer. His risk paid off. Ari became from being a top trainer for well-known Equinox Fitness, which led to writing fitness columns for Details, Fitness, and Men’s Journal magazines. He recognized the entrepreneurial possibilities working for himself and has been running his own business for six years. During this time his work has been featured in print publications such as the New York Times, Self, W, and Entertainment Weekly; attracted major public personalities such as Sean “Puffy” Combs, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chandra North and comedian Marc Maron; and was featured on national television shows Extra and Today. Ari’s work stems from a training method he co-developed known as Integrative Movement Conditioning (IMC). IMC combines the principles of popular and established systems including Yoga, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Dance, Pilates, and Gyrotonic, to produce an enjoyable yet high-level of exercise. A recent retreatant at Elat Chayyim’s summer meditation retreat with David and Shoshana Cooper, Ari has also been actively integrating the teachings of Jewish wisdom into the training and programming he provides.
